Raidin’ Rules

These rules are set in place to illustrate what we expect to happen at Allied Giants raids and events. The purpose of these rules is to not make a raid more difficult, but to remove some of the burden from the shoulders of the raid/event coordinators by making sure in advance that people know what is expected.

Be on time! We cannot seem to stress enough how important this is.
  • Make an effort to arrive at least ten minutes before the start of the raid
  • If you know you will be late, let the raid leader (RL) know, and park your character outside the raid instance
  • If you’re not on time, your spot may be given to someone else

Conduct at raids and events...
  • Pay attention to the RL!
  • Let the raid leader make the calls and please do not echo them.
  • Polite suggestions are welcome, but please save them for before/after encounters
  • If you notice a problem, bring it up with the RL in a private channel
  • While on a raid led by AG, do not engage in any manner of abusive or disruptive behavior over public and guild channels
  • Have fun, but occasionally the RL may need silence on Ventrillo, especially during boss encounters

Preparation
  • Repair gear, purchase consumables, read up on fights, download required addons
  • Be ready to wipe, it is likely we will wipe and fail many times before we get it right

Damage Meters
  • Congrats! You did 9,000,000 DPS but everyone died
  • Meters can be good to diagnose problems, make improvements, and see what went wrong, but they are not the most important thing. It isn’t a win until the boss is dead
  • Please don’t spam meters in raid chat

Failure to comply with these rules will result in:
  1. A warning for first offense in a raid.
  2. If the warning is not heeded - Dismissal from the raid

~~ Dismissal from a raid ~~
  • You will be removed from the raid group and either hearth out or wait for the in-game timer to port you. 3 dismissals in a 3 month period will result in a ban from all guild events for a period of 2 weeks. .A 4th dismissal within 3 months will be grounds for deguilding.
  • After a dismissal, you will be allowed to ask for a review by Officers / EC to see if it was valid.
