Allied Giant Raid Rules

These rules are set in place to illustrate what we expect to happen at Allied Giants raids and events. The purpose of these rules is to not make a raid more difficult, but to remove some of the burden from the shoulders of the raid/event coordinators by making sure in advance that people know what is expected.

Be on time! We can not seem to stress enough how important this is.

  1. Everyone attending raids should make every effort to be online and OTM to the raid location at least 30 minutes before start time. If you plan on showing but know you will be late, you must let an Event Coordinator/Raid Leader know prior to hold your spot and your estimated arrival time. You will be given a 10 minute buffer to arrive before your spot is given to another waiting. Should you not be on time, you are subject to being omitted from the raid, or you may have to get yourself to the rest of the group, if we move in before your arrival. If you die trying to get to the group and need help getting your corpse or a rez, we will help you as soon as possible without jeopardizing the raid. Summons will be set up if available, but do not count on it. You may not be grouped until the raid party has reached a safe location and the raid leader announces that he will group you. Do not ask the raid leaders or shout to be grouped before then.
  2. If possible some raids will have a set time for bringing in more people, including those unable to make the raids due to differences in time zones.
Conduct at raids and events...
  1. Pay attention to EC/Raid leader's orders.Follow all orders from EC/Raid Leaders explicitly.
    a. Unless the raid leader has specifically asked you to scout ahead, do not leave the raid group.
    b. Unless the raid leader specifically puts you on the pull team, do not pull mobs.
Do NOT argue with EC/Raid Leaders.Assist and attack ONLY after the MA calls the target. Do NOT overcast or cast early unless expressly told to do so by EC/Raid Leader.
  2. Do NOT give commands or tactic suggestions on Raid channels. Use a specific tell to Officers/EC/Raid Leaders.
Failure to comply with these rules will result in:
  1. A warning for first offense in a raid.
  2. If the warning is not heeded - Dismissal from the raid.
~~ Dismissal from a raid ~~
  • You will be removed from the raid group and either hearth out or wait for the in-game timer to port you.3 dismissals in a 3 month period will result in a ban from all guild events for a period of 2 weeks.A 4th dismissal within 3 months will be grounds for deguilding.
  • After a dismissal, you will be allowed to ask for a review by Officers / EC to see if it was valid.

While on raids the raid leaders and pullers are very busy.
We ask members to please follow these rules:
  • Never send tells to the pullers, ever.
  • Only send tells to the raid leaders that are urgent.
Communication during raids:
  • Let the raid leader make the calls and please do not echo them. While on a raid led by AG, do not engage in any manner of abusive or disruptive behavior over public channels. (shout, say or ooc) Do not start arguments in guild or raid chat in the middle of raids. We have temps tagged and sometimes guests that can hear the whole discussion. Arguments are very distracting and can get people killed. If you see a problem, it should be brought up after the raid in a civil manner. If another group or guild asks questions via local channels, allow the raid leaders to answer the questions. If an adequate period of time goes by without seeing a response, send a single tell to the raid leader stating that you saw that someone had a question.
  • If you get a tell from someone outside the raid zone asking about the raid, please don't answer, but instead politely refer them to the raid leader.

Information for raids:
Prior to many raids, maps and information will be sent in email and/or posted on the boards. You are responsible for reading this information.

WoW Raid Loot Guidelines

Do Not Roll On:
  • Any Green Item that is BoP (Bind on Pickup)
  • Any Blue Item that is BoP or BoE (Bind on Equip)
  • Any Purple Item
  • Any Orange Item
  • Any Keys
  • Any Special Gems
Note: General practice is only 1 Blue/Purple upgrade item per person. Unless all get one, then it's cycled around again. If you already had a Blue/Purple upgrade and another drops, and you are the only person it will benefit from it/needs it, this is a special case and you get the item.

Roll on these Items:
  • Any Green Item that is BoE
  • Any Argent Dawn Stones (If Need/Use)
  • Any Recipes (If Need/Use)
  • Any Normal Gems (IE Jade/Aquamarine)
Note: If a Green BoE item is an upgrade for you, speak up. If there are more than 1 that the item will be an upgrade for, they will roll for it.

Set Items will go in the following Order:
  1. Class Users
  2. Those that the item will be an Upgrade.
  3. Guild Bank for Up and Coming AGs.
  4. Greed if Guild Bank has 2 or more.

Recipes/Plans/Schematics: Priority
  1. Roll if can use.
  2. Guild Bank for Up and Coming AGs.
  3. Greed if Guild Bank has 2 or more.
Notes:
  • After Boss fights, everybody checks the Boss for special items like Keys and Special Gems.
    • (The reason for checking the body is the Gem is initally only visable by 1 person in the raid group. So if that person doesn't look at the body, that gem/key is lost. No one else can see the gem/key until the person it's tagged to looks at the body.)
    • Please do not loot it, they will be given/rolled by the people who need them most or are further along in the quest. If no one is working on it, it will be randomed to all to start up the quest.
  • Stitchings from Strath. They are green and say BoP. It is a very important piece. They will be given to the person furthest along in the quest or randomed to those starting the quest if no one needs.
  • Please try not to loot until the fight is over, bodies do not poof for some time.
    • In Stratholme, this means after the mini-bosses are killed, we all run in and do AE to clear the tower, then loot. The reason for this, is where you don't have loot spam in your window while fighting. If you don't have AE, this is fine, just stand around looking at the body. You can kick it if you want, just don't loot it please.
  • If want an item DE'ed, inform the DE'er before looting, as it has to be in the DE'ers inventory to work. They will have to loot BoP items, DE it, then hand you the shard.ip") item.

Additional Helpful Information

Pre-Raid
  • Repair ArmorBuy Supplies (Spell Components, Arrows, ETC)Head to Instance ZoneMake an Assist Macro. (Type "/macro" to bring up the Macro UI. Click New, name the Macro to something like "Assist" or "Target", pick and Icon. Click ok. In the body, type "/assist" without the quotes and replacing with the name of the MA. Then click Complete. Drag Icon to Hotbar. To check it, ask the MA to target someone, click the Icon and see if you get the target. To change the MA, just type "/macro" and highlight the Macro you want to work on. And click on the text and delete the MA's name and re-type the new MA. Click complete. Done, new MA.)If you are going to be late, move character to zone and camp there.
  • Get Ventrillo, even if don't have a Microphone, it's very useful for updated commands and last minute changes. Snag a Headset if don't wanna bother the kiddies. 95% of the time it's rated PG. Every once in a while, something slips.
During Raid
  • Listen to calls MED - Sit and Drink, your gonna need it. OTM - We are moving. (Can have additional commands with it) OMG - Oh My God - Usually said just before Raid is smeared into floor Stoned - Warlock spell that raises fallen character. Used after full wipe.Do not Assist the MA (Main Assist) until the MA calls the target. (This is to ensure your getting the right target, as the MA may mis-click, need to switch targets or just space out for a second. This also allows the MA to get the mobs far enough away from others where they do not add during the fight. And to have gained enough agro to hold the mob while it's being attacked.)If a Mob breaks Mez/Hold/Adds, do not switch unless told to do so.Crowd control peeps will be informed that they should be onguard.Crowd control varies depending on group makeup and dungeon.Try not to loot during fights. This clutters the screen.Keep Ventrillo chatter to a mininmum during Raid. This is an awesome raid tool, if we can hear it.Don't move up until called, the Pull team will be going in and out getting mobs. They will announce when ready to move with an OTM call.Lower level peeps stay towards the back.Lower level melees, hold until mob is pulled all the way to group.Lower level melees, DO NOT chase mobs.Try not to stun mobs being pulled unless told to do so.Pets are fine, but need to watch carefully. Ensure Mob is taking damage before sending pet. Also, watch pet when crossing bridges. And dismiss pet anytime you jump to a ledge or lower area. Should your pet get agro, do not call, let it die, and Feign Death once it's dead to loose agro.
  • If you need to AFK, announce it in raid chat that your leaving and who your hooked to, then have your character follow that person. This way your not left behind should we move up. Also, Hunters make the best follow peeps as they are usually in the back. But anyone except the pull team and melees will do.
After Raid
  • Be sure and drop from the raid so your solo quests are not messed up.
  • If you have any comments/issues with Raid, hold them until after, then get with Airwolf/Wyld, Quepid, Keldon or Lyth in private to discuss the issues.
***These rules are all subject to updating as we raid more and different situations come up.
